Only one oxygen atom lesser than glycerol as a chemical formula. While in fact,  it has only 2 hydroxyl groups compared to 3 hydroxyl groups in glycerol.

PG is a water soluble, colorless, odorless, and viscous liquid.  It has a contradictory mix between sweetness and bitterness in taste.

Compared to vegetable glycerin, the viscosity of PG is lesser, and is a main component of the e-liquid products. It turns into vapor when heated to produce a light (less thick) vapor with a bit harsher throat hit to the user. Propylene Glycol is more potent flavor carrier than glycerol.
